Wipro Purple Economy Dialogue

The Wipro Purple Economy Dialogue was designed as an internal leadership and employee conversation to help one of India’s leading technology companies see disability inclusion through a business, innovation and systems lens.

The session opened with the story of Naina, showing how products, services, social support and accessible systems can transform the life of a person with a disability. Neeraj framed the Purple Economy as a shift from seeing disability as a limitation to seeing it as a design signal, a market opportunity and a growth engine. Shanti deepened this through powerful analogies—eyewear becoming a major consumer industry, and healthcare becoming an economic ecosystem once society built systems around human need.

Employee voices made the conversation real. Monica spoke about how even everyday shopping still requires dependence when systems are not designed well. Eliza spoke about consumer apps becoming inaccessible after upgrades, especially during urgent moments. These stories helped Wipro leaders see that accessibility is not abstract—it is about whether a customer can complete a task when it matters.

What it moved forward:

Opened pathways for Wipro to see accessibility as a client-facing differentiator, employee-led innovation pipeline, AI design principle, and a possible Purple Economy Lab opportunity.
