Panel discussion at an international conference meeting.

UN COSP – June 2026

UN COSP dialogue explored how the next phase of disability inclusion must move from rights to systems that make those rights real. The Purple Economy was presented as a framework that recognises persons with disabilities across the full economy as customers, workers, entrepreneurs, innovators, suppliers and decision-makers.

H.E. Luis Gallegos reflected on the transformative power of the CRPD while also affirming the need to bring the language of value, markets and systems into global disability discourse.
The session brought together global voices across rights, technology, civic participation and inclusive systems.

What it moved forward:

The Purple Economy gained recognition as a global framework for disability inclusion. New pathways emerged for collaboration across accessibility, participation, innovation, and inclusive growth.
